Membership 


PLBC is a non-profit, volunteer organization and is open to anyone with an interest in lawn bowling.
Fees are used to maintain the bowling green, equipment  and facility.
Members volunteer time, skills and services to help us keep fees some of the lowest in the country.

Payment Options
  • Check payable to PLBC sent to:   Debbie Tupper, 315 Hankins Dr, St. Helens OR 97051
  • Pay at the club with cash or credit card
  • Use the PayPal  button to select an Annual Membership or Associate Membership or a second Annual Membership
Memberships

Regular membership - $100 (Jan 1 - Dec 31)
This membership type is available to adults who are at least 18 years of age and establishes PLBC as their home club.

  • NW Division and Bowls USA membership
  • Access to the clubhouse and equipment shed
  • One clubhouse locker - dependant upon availability
  • A vote in PLBC business during regular and special meetings​
  • Use of club bowls and equipment
  • Unlimited bowling when the green is available
  • Annual membership card
  • Laws of the Game handbook (provided in first membership year and when a new version is released)
  • Tactics and Techniques handbook (provided in first membership year)

  • Club name badge (provided in first membership year)
  • May host up to 4 Guests at one time free of charge - see details below
          Member must be present
          Each guest may bowl free of charge 2 times in a calendar year
          Member is responsible for the actions of their guests and any damage            caused to the green or equipme​nt
          Member provides bowling instruction to their guests before bowling
          If a member wishes to host a group (5 guests or more), the member is              responsible for collecting and remitting to PLBC $10 for each guest                  over 4
Associate membership - $75 (Jan 1 - Dec 31)
For individuals that are members of another lawn bowling club and have paid their Division and Bowls USA dues through their home club.

Youth Membership - Free
Membership is available to youth under the age of 18 who have an adult family member who holds any current PLBC membership or an adult member willing to sponsor them. Must have instruction prior to bowling on the green. Lock codes shall not be given to youth members.  ​
Youth membership includes:
  • A free one-hour instruction session
  • Use of green and equipment when adult family member or sponsor is present
  • Participation in PLBC tournaments
  • Bowling at division or national tournaments with payment of $25 dues for NW Division and Bowls USA membership.

Benefits of Bowls USA Membership


Bowls USA takes many different avenues to benefit its’ members.  Everything from person and club development to setting standards for play comes through the national organization.  Become familiar with everything you deserve.
Standards for Play
  • BUSA develops the rules for the sport to guide play
  • BUSA is a member of World Bowls, providing you an opportunity to play and compete in any country where bowls is played
  • BUSA provides clubs and members with updates and changes of any aspect of the game
  • BUSA recruits umpires so that clubs and divisions have an expert to ensure games are played according to the same rules and guidelines
Bowler Opportunities
  • BUSA sponsors training camps so bowlers of all levels can develop their bowing skills with help from experts
  • BUSA trains coaches and provides coaching at the club level
  • BUSA tests and certifies umpires so tournament have consistent and fair arbitrators
  • BUSA sponsors tournaments at the national and international level providing an opportunity for competitive play
  • BUSA selects club players to represent the US as TEAM USA in international events, furnishing them with uniforms
Club Program
  • BUSA provides grants to clubs to promote club development and assist in recruiting and retaining members
  • BUSA incentivizes club growth through a rewards program
Communications
  • BUSA prints and distributes rule books to all clubs and members
  • BUSA develops and distributes educational materials such as the “Tactics and Techniques” handbook
  • BUSA publishes a bi-monthly electronic newsletter
  • BUSA hosts and maintain a website with current information about the sport, events and resources
  • BUSA offers mass email support to club and divisional tournament directors and newsletter editors
Recognition
  • BUSA maintains the Hall of Fame to recognize a lifetime of effort for outstanding bowls who also contribute to the organization
  • BUSA encourages Golden Bias Club membership which assists Team USA with expenses. 
  • BUSA supports the Super Shots program to celebrate club bowlers who experience that single end of bowling nearing perfection
  • BUSA promotes the Memorial Fund which allows tax-deductible donations in acknowledgement of friends and family
  • BUSA recognizes individuals who have made a concerted effort on behalf of Bowls USA through the annual President’s Awards
