BRIDGETOWN PAIRS

Bridgetown Open Vet/Novice Pairs Tournament

• Pairings are participants choice.  Each team should have one veteran bowler and one novice bowler.  A novice is defined as someone who began playing in 2023 or more recently

• Registration by pair is preferred, individuals registering will be paired with an appropriate bowler by the Tournament Director if able

Format

• Four 8-end Australian pairs games

• Australian Pairs Format (2-4-2)

  • 1st end Leads play 2 bowls, Skips play 4 bowls, Leads play 2 bowls

  • 2nd end roles are reversed

  • Play continues in this pattern for 8 ends

Scoring

• 3 points for a win

• 1 point for a tie

• Plus Points - 1 Plus Point for every 5 points win margin, max 2 Plus Points

Winners and Tie Breakers

• Winners determined by game points over all games played

• Tie Breakers, if win points are equal, are determined in the following order:

  1. Head to head winner

  2. Plus points

  3. Points for

  4. Points against

  5. Coin flip

Eligibility and Entrance Fees

• All players with experience lawn bowing, all skill levels welcome,
  regardless of club membership
