The Ultimate Pairs Challenge is:
A one-day open Pairs Tournament. Participants do not have to be members of the Portland Lawn Bowling Club, but should have some experience playing the game. Pairings are randomly matched for each of the five games. This is a fun and lively tournament with some friendly competition mixed in!

Match Format
Pairings for each game will be drawn by randomly matching bowlers. If we have an odd number of bowlers we will randomly select a team of three. Before the first game, bowlers will decide their bowling position (skip/lead).
Four bowls pairs games, unless a team has 3 bowlers. A team with 3 bowlers will roll a total of 8 bowls per end, with the 2 leads alternating 2 bowls each and the skip bowling 4 bowls
5 games of 5 ends (10am, 11am,12:30pm, 1:30pm, 3:30pm) (depending how many bowlers show up). Lunch after the 11am game for 30 minutes (bring your own lunch). Tournament should end at about 4pm.
**Additional Coniditions of Play will be conveyed prior to the tournament
Scoring
3 points per toucher
3 points to the team holding shot after the leads’ bowls are played
10 points for closest bowl
5 points for second closest
3 points for third closest
Scores stay with individual bowlers
Eligibility and Entrance Fees
All players from the Portland-area (Oregon and SW Washington) with experience lawn bowling are eligible
