LOCAL BUSINESS LEAGUE

Join the 2025 Portland Bowls Club’s Local Business League. Sign up a team of up to 4 participants, learn an easy play sport, and compete for your business’ name on the coveted Business League Trophy! $50 per team member, includes all equipment and three (3) open attendance one hour learn to bowl sessions prior to 1st league night. Learning and building proficiency takes about 30 minutes, but competitors can attend one or all learn to bowl sessions.

5 Week League starts Monday, July 28, with a prompt 6:30 pm draw. The green opens 20 minutes prior to draw for sign in and warm ups. Teams are randomly assigned, so you’ll get to meet and compete with new people every League Night. Approx 1:30 minutes of game play. Two five-ends sets are played. If tied after two sets, a single tie-breaking end is played! Points awarded for Wins and Overtime Losses. 5 Week Summer League

Cumulative scoring. Individual prizes for first, second, and third place. Special recognition for the overall winning business team with the highest total score!

Conditions of Play

Pairs play, random team draw, teams assign roles

Two, five-end sets w/one tie-breaking end (if necessary)

Teams flip to see who goes first at start of game and at start of tie break (if necessary)

To win:

• Win 1 set and tie 1 set

• Win both sets

• Win 1 set, Lose 1 set, Win Tie Break End

In Event of tiebreak, a League Official will flip a coin, and the skip from the team that won the last set calls the flip. Teams play 1 end.

2 points for a win

1 point for an overtime loss

Individual Competitors score win points, points differential, points for, and points against each week.

Business Teams total the score of all their competitors each week for their weekly score.
